HOLY SMOKES, THESE ARE PAINTINGS!1

by Brian Baldwin on Feb.05, 2010, under art

For those of us who have worked with gouache before, that shit is NOT easy to use. I love the style that the artist, Kazuki Takamatsu, used in these pieces! I’m always amazed at the amount of talented people there are in this world.

TWO GENTLEMEN OF LEBOWSKI

by Brian Baldwin on Feb.03, 2010, under Movies, youtube

Great god in heaven, this video is the end all, be all for any Big Lebowski fans out there! I’m more impressed by the writing than the acting, but either way this video is one of a kind.

EDIT: I shouldn’t have to do this (because everyone should have seen this movie 10 times by now and know the original scene by heart), but JUST incase anyone reading this post HASN’T seen The Big Lebowski, here’s the original scene from which the above video is based.

STEVE BLAKE LOOKS LIKE STRONGMAD

by Brian Baldwin on Feb.02, 2010, under flash, sports

Can’t put my finger on it, but Steve Blake has always reminded me of Strongmad (of the Strong bad emails). Is it just me?…

LOCAL COMPANY MAKES N.Y.T. TECH BLOG

by Brian Baldwin on Jan.11, 2010, under technology

A local software company, Jive Software, is making big news in the tech industry. To be honest, I only really know of these guys because I play soccer with 3 dudes who work there, but from what I hear it’s a pretty rad company. Well done fellas!

This video is pretty tite, but the guys high-pitch cackle in the background is almost enough to make me turn it off.

BEST FAILS OF 2009

by Brian Baldwin on Jan.10, 2010, under wtf

Ian, can’t thank you enough for forwarding this to me! Watching this video made me laugh out loud prolly 8 times and cringe 15. I was actually kind of amazed at how many of these I’d already seen, which is a testament to how much time I waste a year on youtube…

THIS IS JUST GETTING RIDICULOUS

by Brian Baldwin on Jan.07, 2010, under wtf

I promise I’m not on some ‘go green’ kick that’s going to end in a week, I’m genuinely concerned about this stuff. Why is it that the item I bought (exhibit A) is about an inch long, the packaging (exhibit B) is about 5×3 inches, and the receipt (exhibit C) is 10 inches?! I bought ONE item! All I wanted was a very simple headphone connector so that I can use regular headphones with my iPhone, yet I walked out with a hand full of waste. What sucks is that when I saw how much packaging was around this thing I asked the guy if they sold any other brand, and of course, they didn’t (fuk Best Buy btw). I hate Radio Shack for their prices, but at least their products are packaged appropriately. I’ll leave the Shack for a later post though…

LONGEST RECEIPT EVER

by Brian Baldwin on Dec.17, 2009, under wtf

Looks like Rite Aid hasn’t gotten the ‘go green’ memo yet. Note the number of items I bought in exhibit A: ONE! Yet the receipt is like a foot long. I hate receipts to begin with, but this is just absurd.
