Last night I couldn’t sleep for jack. Blame it on my super awesome incredible miraculous goal I scored in my mens league soccer game, or on the fact that I may have mistakenly had caffeine just before hitting the rack. Either way, point is I couldn’t sleep so I turned to my best internet friend and stumbled my way through the nets for about 20 minutes before landing on this outstanding animation appropriately titled, “Crater Face”. I love the story, I love the music, and most of all I love the animation. I think what draws me to the illustration/animation style of this piece is how closely it resembles Ren & Stimpy (the greatest cartoon of all time!). After typing that last sentence I went on youtube and found this Ren & Stimpy bit that make me laugh for an hour. Enjoy this too.

This dude, Max, has some pretty tuned in mo graph skittles. Most of his pieces are pretty short, but still really well done. I love the mix of live action and animation, so it seemed fitting to post this video.

After poking around for about 20 minutes, I found this great article on the making of “Asics Oragami: In Pursuit of Perfection“. Turns out much of the 3D work was done using the same software that I’m getting into called Cinema 4D. It’s always nice to know that something this polished was made using software that I have chillin on my laptop!
