PAY UP, SUCKER
by Brian Baldwin on Oct.14, 2009, under wtf
So last week I’m sitting here at work, minding my own business, when I get an email from my good friend Cable. The email came addressed with the ever-ambiguous title of “dude”, so I thought it must have been about xboxes, or subarus or something like that. Well the body told a different story…
“I was going to you check out your blog today, but when i try to go to your website i get this page:

Just thought you should know.”
Needless to say I immediately went into damage control mode and got on the horn with everyone I could think of to solve the problem. After the fiasco Ben went through with his server buuuuull shit, I wasn’t about to deal with that heavy of a load.
Turns out I just needed to renew my domain and pay the $15! haha. I’ve owned the domain since high school, but my buddy Brosh was the one who knew how to do all that chit so he’s been renewing it and I just pay him. Well turns out it’s his older brother who has it registered (who in turn would pay ANOTHER GUY), so the money has exchanged a lot of hands since 2000.
I know all 7 of you who came to my site last week were left hanging, but I assure you peace has been restored once again!
simple yet so impressive
by Brian Baldwin on Sep.29, 2009, under 3D, art, motion graphics
I know this is really short and simple, but 3 seconds in I was staring an awe and continued to the whole way through it. What’s it like to be so talented? …I’ll tell you some day..
I’m In The House
by Brian Baldwin on Sep.28, 2009, under art, design, motion graphics
WOW, Long time since I’ve blogged! I would usually try and find something to blame it on like being attacked by a super mean griz, or like the netz was down for a few months…. But honestly this is all on me! So from this point forward I’m going to make an oath to blog at least twice a week till christmas. Not saying that I’m not going to throw up some laaaaame-dizzle posts to fill my quota, but I promise (all 7 of my readers) that it won’t be a waste of time to check back.

Ok, enough of the bureaucratic filler. I like to go to Borders on my lunch break and check out industry magz like Wired and Videographer just to keep the creativity flowing. Every now and again I’ll come across those random art mags (usually from the UK) that are about $15 a piece and chalk full of the coolest art you’ll never see in person. I used to have about 16 or so of them in San Francisco and would run through them every time I needed a quick hit of inspirado. Anywho, last week I browsed an issue of Whatever U Want and ended up reading an article on a 23 year old brit named James Sutton. Truth be told I’m not that into his style, but at 23 he’s KILLING right now. Check out the new Steve Aoki video he just directed.

Just like a mini mall – of just furniture

Per my post on the Super Broker Shuffle, here’s a guy that had a similar approach… Only I’m pretty sure the super broker shuffle was an internal vid, not a commercial!
guns don’t kill people, bullets do

Tell me this quick-draw shit isn’t tight… I can’t begin to think of how much time/ammo this guy has wasted practicing.
This clip just has me in awe…
God I waste a lot of time on YouTube….

Seriously, wtf?! Great whites are SAVAGE!
While we’re on the subject of… savage animal attacks…. I thought I’d throw this one in for good measure.
Creative Post-It Stop Motion
by Brian Baldwin on Jun.17, 2009, under art, stop motion, youtube
I can’t even begin to think of how long this took to make. Thanks to youtube and digital cameras getting better and cheaper, these kinds of videos have surfaced from all over the world.
One of the most popular style of a cheap (yet time consuming) stop motion videos are the “photo a day” vids. The premise is simple: keep a camera on a tripod (or just hold it out in front of you), and take a photo every day for X amount of years. What intrigues me is that a lot of these people started their photos well before youtube was even invented… Where exactly did they think people were going to see their videos?
Howling Pup
by Brian Baldwin on Jun.16, 2009, under video, youtube
Now don’t think that just because I married that I’m going to start posting weak-ass softie blogs, but this video is too cute/bad ass to pass up! However the frickin guy gets his own voice to sound THAT much like a wolf is incredible in itself, but when the lil pup gets going I can’t help but smile and laugh.
Minus the French, this is pretty cool

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a fellow motion graphic designers work on my blog, so consider this my comeback…
This dude, Max, has some pretty tuned in mo graph skittles. Most of his pieces are pretty short, but still really well done. I love the mix of live action and animation, so it seemed fitting to post this video.
